Build Plate

The build plate, also known as the print bed or build platform, is the surface on which 3D prints are formed layer by layer. A high-quality build plate ensures excellent first-layer adhesion, stability during printing, and easy part removal once printing is complete. Build plates come in various materials such as tempered glass, aluminum, PEI-coated spring steel, or Garolite, each offering different levels of adhesion and surface finish. Heated build plates are commonly used to prevent warping and improve compatibility with high-temperature filaments. Some models also feature magnetic or dual-sided surfaces, allowing for easy removal and flexible use depending on the material.
